There were ominous signs this week for Colombia’s efforts to replenish its dwindling gas reserves and boost output. Houston-based deepwater giant Anadarko Petroleum –which operates the country’s most prospective gas fields – appears to be losing patience in offshore Colombia. 

Anadarko said in an SEC filing on 1 May that its overall exploration and production spending increased during Q1 2018, but that this was offset by lower exploration costs of $138 million “primarily related to decreased exploration drilling in the Gulf of Mexico...
