Algeria’s energy ministry will propose changes to the country’s hydrocarbon law in July in an effort to boost much-needed investment in its untapped oil and gas potential, Energy Minister Mustapha Guitouni told delegates at the eighth North Africa Petroleum Exhibition and Conference in Oran this week. 

“We are planning to deliver the first drafts of planned amendments to the hydrocarbon law,” he said, stressing the amendments are still being assessed. Several recommendations are expected to be made at the preliminary stage, and should ultimately pass through...
