Gazprom increased pipeline gas supplies to Germany – its largest European customer – by 7.2% year on year in 2017, to 53.4 billion cubic metres. The latest rise continues the upward trend in Russia-Germany deliveries seen since 2014, when Germany received just 38.7 bcm. Flows could be set to increase further should the second line of Nord Stream go ahead as planned. Completion of the twin pipelines is scheduled for the end of 2019.
