Tesla revealed its new electric truck at a much-hyped launch event in California on Thursday night, a milestone that will have companies operating in the gas-for-transport sector worried. 

Tesla has a reputation for disrupting the automotive market with its electric vehicles. But while a truck may look incongruous among its line-up of sporty saloons and SUVs, the haulage sector is ripe for technological revolution.
