Chile imported 407,000 tons of LNG in August, up by 14.8% from the same month of 2016, Platts reported on Thursday citing government data.
Trinidad and Tobago was Chile’s main LNG supplier, accounting for around 78% of the volumes imported.
Chile, which is seeing increased demand from its power sector, also received cargoes from the United States and Qatar.
