ElectroGas Malta has awarded Spanish transmission system operator Reganosa the contract to operate and maintain Malta’s Delimara regasification plant.
The plant is part of an LNG-to-power project in southeastern Malta that also features an LNG storage vessel, the 125,000 cubic metre LNG Armada Mediterrana, and a 215 MW combined-cycle power plant.
The regasification plant will also supply Enemalta, the state-owned electricity generation and distribution company, with gas to fuel an eight-engine power plant of approximately 150 MW.
The new terminal received its first LNG cargo on 11 January.
