Irish power market laws to boost gas and renewables

Changes to Ireland’s electricity market legislation will benefit the country’s newer, more efficient gas-fired power plants, but the overall effect on generation remains uncertain.

The new laws, set to be introduced in 2017 and 2018, are a response to the EU’s Third Energy Package.
