Chinese gas imports returned to double-digit growth over the first nine months of 2016, underscoring how last year’s price cuts and the structural shift away from coal have helped drive consumption.

Imports grew by 16.7% from last year, to 50.9 billion cubic metres, data from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) showed.
