Legislation being considered in the United States Senate could speed up approvals for LNG export plants in the country by as much as six months.

While there is continuing concern from some Democrats and industry bodies about the wisdom of exporting LNG – and while environmental groups continue to resist fracking – the LNG Permitting Certainty and Transparency Act (Senate Bill 33) appears to have broad cross-party support and tacit approval from the White House.
