Colder weather provides a boost to European gas prices

The NBP day-ahead dropped to just under 33 p/th on Monday, following declines over the latter half of last week. However, the outlook for colder weather has supported a jump this week, with the price rising more than 3 p/th in just one day to reach nearly 36 p/th on Tuesday. Although temperatures are around average and are expected to remain so throughout most of the UK over the coming week, this is a decline from the above-average temperatures that have dominated in recent days.
