Since the Ukraine crisis, the US has emphasized the need to speed up approvals of LNG exports from more than 40 projects that have so far applied for permits.

The number of LNG export projects on the drawing board has led to fears that US gas prices will rise significantly as the projects are commissioned. The logic is that, if more gas is sent abroad, less gas will be available for domestic users, and prices will rise.
