Commercial flows of Russian gas to Europe fell by one-third in January, to 12.9 billion cubic metres, amid withdrawals from Europe’s gas storage facilities. European gas stocks reached record-high levels at the end of last year, prompted largely by the uncertainty over the future of Gazprom’s gas transit contract with Ukraine.
