Growth in China's LNG imports slowed dramatically in 2019, expanding by only 11.5% on an annual basis, according to customs data. This was down from growth of 40.8% in 2018 and 46.4% in 2017. Last year’s LNG imports reached 60.7 mt, with volumes in January 2019 hitting a record 6.58 mt. The next highest months were November, with 6.51 mt, and December, with 6.46 mt. The lowest month for imports was March, with 4.06 mt.
