Spain’s gas-fired power plants generated a total of 51.14 GWh of power in 2019, a sharp increase from the 26.4 GWh seen in 2018. The sharp increase doubled the share of gas in Spain’s power mix, causing it to rise from 11.5% in 2018 to 21.2% in 2019, according to data from Spanish grid operator Red Electrica de Espana.
