The key issue: Vietnam will import LNG from the United States following a key approval that has paved the way for the country’s first private LNG-to-power project.

Interfax analysis: Vietnam is on track to finalise its first LNG import deal, which could see cargoes from the United States arrive at a 3.2 GW LNG-to-power project in 2023 to help tackle future power shortages.
