Taiwan imported 17.02 mt of LNG in 2019, just 1.48% more than it did in 2018, according to the latest customs data. The small increase follows the overall trend of slowing growth – or even contraction – in LNG imports observed in all the major Asian importers. However, Taiwan’s LNG market performed better in 2019 than it did the year before, when volumes contracted by 0.11% on an annual basis.
