Gas-fired power units with a capacity amounting to 4.6 GW secured contracts for capacity payments in Ireland's All-island T-2 auction, which covers the period 2021-2022. The auction took place on 5 December, but the preliminary results were announced this week.

This auction alone generated €358 million ($398 million) in payments for power plant operators in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, which have committed to supply the grid for the auction year 2021-2022.
