The key issue: In late November, Qatar Petroleum announced plans to increase liquefaction capacity by 64% by 2027. Other Middle Eastern suppliers will find it hard to compete against this low-cost marketing drive.

Interfax analysis: Recent signs of a rapprochement between Qatar and the main Gulf Cooperation Council states do not appear to have dampened Doha’s determination to build LNG market share.
