Saudi Arabia connected its first 300 MW solar PV plant to its grid in November, and there is plenty more to come, according to official plans. However, in this week’s issue of Natural Gas Insight, our Middle East Specialist James Gavin analysed how – beneath the renewables hype – it is gas that is increasingly displacing crude and heavy fuel oil in power generation.
