Regulatory changes mean unconventional gas developers in Shanxi can apply for ownership of all of the so-called “three gases” within a block: shale, tight gas and CBM.

In last week’s issue of Natural Gas Insight, our China Specialist Tang Tian analysed how the legal changes are expected to help Shanxi to produce 20 billion cubic metres per year of unconventional gases by 2022 compared with 12 bcm in 2018.
