Italy’s gas demand increased by 4.9% in the first nine months of 2019, to 54.36 billion cubic metres, as the country’s appetite for LNG continued to rise. July saw an exceptionally high year-on-year increase in demand, of 12%, while August and September saw more modest annual growth, of 5.4% and 3.3% respectively.
