Japan’s LNG imports increased in September by 5.6% on a monthly basis and 2.6% on an annual basis, to reach 6.44 mt. However, the country’s imports for the period between January and September 2019 were down by 7.6% compared with the same period in 2018. A modest increase in volumes is expected in Q4, driven by efforts to increase storage levels before winter.
