UK LNG imports fell to the lowest level since 2008 in August, the UK’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy said this week. The drop follows strong imports earlier in the summer, which compensated for the supply deficit caused by Norwegian pipeline maintenance. Lower prices also made UK gas exports less attractive, meaning the UK exported less gas to Belgium compared with the same month in previous years.
