Taiwan LNG imports

Taiwan’s LNG imports increased by 13.5% on annual basis in September, reaching 1.37 mt. They fell by 9.3% on monthly basis, but this was in line with seasonal norms. The country imported 12.47 mt of LNG over the first nine months of 2019, 2.6% less than the same period in 2018.

Taiwanese LNG demand is expected to grow during the coming years as the government plans to decommission all of the country’s nuclear reactors by 2025. Nuclear accounted for 10.5%...
