The growth rate of China’s LNG imports eased in August 2019 as a result of lower industrial demand and higher domestic gas production. Volumes increased by 10.6% on an annual basis and 6.3% on a monthly basis, to 5.2 mt, but the year-on-year growth rate was much lower than in 2018, when it reached around 49%.
