Japan’s LNG imports increased on a monthly basis in July 2019 as weather-related gas consumption rose. The country imported 6.82 mt of LNG over the month, an increase of 31.2% from June. Temperatures are forecast to be above average during the rest of September, which will support LNG demand.

However, Japanese demand for LNG is not expected to increase on an annual basis in 2019 as a whole despite the recent weather boost....
