BP takes FID on Tortue/Ahmeyim

BP and its partners have taken FID for phase 1 development of the ultra-deepwater Greater Tortue Ahmeyim project.

BP and its partners have taken an FID on the first phase of the ultra-deepwater Greater Tortue/Ahmeyim project, which straddles the maritime border between Mauritania and Senegal.

The decision involved the countries’ respective governments and state petroleum companies SMHPM and Petrosen, as well as BP and Kosmos Energy.

The project is set to tap around 425 billion cubic metres of gas via an FPSO that will transfer the feedstock to an FLNG vessel provided by Golar LNG.
