With Russia and Ukraine edging closer to a deal that would see Gazprom deliveries resume later this summer for the first time since 2015, Ukrainian imports continued to flatline in the second quarter of this year.

Preliminary statistics for H1 2016 illustrate that, although Ukraine’s domestic consumption has continued to fall, only imports via the Slovak corridor are adding to supplies from domestic output. Imports via the route amounted to less than 500,000 cubic metres per day during early July.
