Ukraine continued to slash its gas imports in the first five months of 2016, with transmission system operator Ukrtransgaz reporting a 66% drop in total volumes up to May. This marks the second successive year that incoming gas volumes have dropped over the period.

Imports for May alone fell by almost 94% year on year, to just 96.4 million cubic metres.
