Poland’s state-owned utility, PGNiG, is to receive its first spot LNG cargo from Norway in June as part of plans to ramp up imports into its recently opened LNG terminal, which will also see Qatari-contracted gas arrive next month.

The Warsaw-based company said at the start of May that it was looking into options for up to five spot deliveries throughout June and early July. This will augment an existing Qatargas supply arrangement, dating back to 2009, aimed at diversifying supply options for the Gazprom-dependent country.
