Reductions in coal-fired power generation in South Korea are expected to boost power sector demand for gas over the winter period. Up to 14 of the country’s 60 coal-fired power plants could face temporary shutdowns between December 2019 and February 2020, while those that remain operational will have reduced utilisation rates.
