United States coal production will continue to fall over the next two years despite efforts by President Donald Trump to boost the sector, according to forecasts by the Energy Information Administration (EIA). The EIA expects the US to produce 684 mt of coal in 2019, down by 9% year on year, and 640 mt in 2020, down by 6% year on year.
