United States renewable power output – excluding hydro – rose by 9% year on year in 2018, to 421 TWh up from 386.3 TWh in 2017. Their share of total generation rose from 9.6% to 10%, according to data released on 27 February by the Energy Information Administration (EIA). Solar generation saw the biggest percentage increase, rising by one-quarter, from 53.3 TWh in 2017 to 66.6 TWh in 2018.
