Coal stockpiles at US coal power plants hit a 10-year low in March 2019, falling to 97.1 mt from a previous low of 98.7 mt in February 2019, according to preliminary data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA). Stockpiles were 29.4 mt lower in March than during the same period a year earlier.
