Argentina was hit by a blackout on 16 June. The problem was caused by a short-circuit on a power line between the 3.1 GW Yacyretá hydropower plant on the border with Paraguay and the 1.89 GW Salto Grande hydro plant on the border with Uruguay, according to initial reports from local companies on social media.
