The trade war between the United States and China is costing the US LNG sector.

The administration of US President Donald Trump is set to impose additional tariffs of 10% on another $300 billion worth of goods imported from China, some of which will start from 1 September 2019. The announcement came just a day after trade talks between the two sides ended without much progress. Trump can still increase tariffs to 25% on this tranche of Chinese goods to exert more pressure on Beijing.
