Temperatures in the United States are forecast to cool in the first week of September in regions including the north and the northeast following periods of scorching heat in key demand areas. Forecasts for the mid-Atlantic region and the southern US are mixed, but point to dry conditions and relatively high temperatures which should continue to support air conditioning demand. High temperatures over the summer have supported power prices amid stronger fuel demand.
