Egypt’s massive 1.8 GW Benban Solar Park moved closer to full commercial operations in January with the commissioning of one of its component projects – the 64 MW AEES1 facility, developed by Alcazar Energy. The park is scheduled to be fully commissioned this year. When fully operational, it will provide a substantial boost to Egypt’s renewable capacity and help the country move closer to its long-term targets for solar.
