Gas is becoming more expensive for Turkish consumers as the lira weakens against the US dollar.

Almost all of Turkey’s gas is imported, and there are early signs that currency woes are reducing its import volumes and cutting its demand for gas. Turkey’s imports of pipeline gas and LNG amounted to 23 bcm in the first five months of 2018, which was a fall of 5% on an annual basis.
