Saudi Arabia’s attempt to boost capacity of its Hawiyah gas plant highlights the kingdom’s emphasis on non-associated gas.

Saudi Aramco received bids in August to expand the capacity of Hawiyah by 36.79 million cubic metres per day (MMcm/d). The plant handles non-associated gas from Ghawar – the world’s largest conventional acreage. Most of the gas from the acreage is associated with oil, but it also produces non-associated gas.
