Asian spot LNG prices fell from January’s highs to around $7.8/MMBtu by the middle of February. With strong increases in supply hitting the market over the coming months, the forecast rises in regional LNG demand will be insufficient to prevent prices falling further.
European hub prices saw new seasonal highs at the start of February, with the NBP month-ahead rising to around 60 p/th. However, with seasonal demand easing, and power sector consumption in some markets also falling, declines in prices are expected.
