A large tremor has hit the Groningen region, putting additional pressure on the Dutch government to bring down production volumes.

A tremor with a magnitude of 3.4 hit the Groningen region of the Netherlands in early January, marking the most significant seismic activity in the region for five years. This has put added pressure on the Dutch government and raises the risk of further reductions being made to the field’s production cap.
