An influx of Russian LNG into Latin America will not stop the region’s weakening demand for the fuel.

Weather-related demand made Brazil Latin America’s biggest LNG buyer in September. The country procures all of its LNG from the spot market and bought eight cargoes during the month, doubling its purchases from September 2017. Three of the eight cargoes came from Russia’s Yamal LNG project.
