The trading environment for LNG exports from Trinidad and Tobago is set to become more difficult over the coming years.

Trinidad’s declining gas production has reduced its LNG exports, but other equally potent factors could dampen the country’s market prospects in the medium-to-long term. Trinidadian cargoes are already facing strong competition from the likes of the US and Australia, and the challenge is set to become even tougher as the bulk of Trinidad’s long-term LNG supply contracts are due to expire over the coming years.
