Russia signs up to finance Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline – report
Russia will directly finance the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline (IP Pipeline), which is expected to cost $1.5 billion. According to a report in local newspaper Daily Times, the Russian government has agreed to the deal as part of the Pak-Russia Joint Working Group initiative. The move also positions Russia to potentially join the long-considered Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India project, which could cost in excess of $8 billion.
