Details emerge on Yamal LNG financing plans
Independent gas producer Novatek is looking to push ahead with the financing of the Yamal LNG project after a final investment decision (FID) is taken. Novatek’s co-owner and Chief Executive Leonid Mikhelson told journalists on the sidelines of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum last week that “after the FID is made and before project financing is opened, we plan to sign contracts with customers, and contract roughly 50% of gas from the Yamal LNG project”.
