Uruguay’s state-controlled energy company ANCAP is struggling to acquire a majority stake in the capital’s gas distributor, Montevideo Gas, from Brazil’s Petrobras. Talks between ANCAP and Petrobras have stalled because of a disagreement over the distributor’s debts.
