China and the Philippines still locked in maritime standoff

 

A standoff between Chinese and Filipino vessels in a disputed region of the South China Sea entered into its fourth day on Friday, presenting Beijing with a diplomatic headache as it struggles to contain fallout from a domestic political scandal and the failed missile launch by its ally and neighbour North Korea.
