Aussie energy valuations hit by rising costs, strong dollar

 

Almost A$11 billion ($11.6 billion) was wiped off the value of Australia’s leading listed energy companies in the second quarter of 2012 compared with the previous quarter, with soaring operating costs, the ‘stubbornly strong’ Australian dollar and a 25% fall in Asia’s Tapis oil benchmark to blame.
