China releases official shale gas resource estimates

China holds 25.08 trillion cubic metres of recoverable shale gas reserves, the Ministry of Land and Resources (MLR) said on Thursday. The figure is the first official appraisal of China's shale potential and does not include reserves in Qinghai Province and the Tibet Autonomous Region.
